Description
Hatsukokoro Yorokobi Damascus petty 150mm is the Japanese equivalent of a paring knife. However a petty has a higher and longer blade than a paring knife, therefore it is known as a universal knife.
History and curiosity
Since its establishment in 2013, H&K Co. Ltd has sought out the best products Japan has to offer. In 2019, we developed our original brand “Hatsukokoro”. The word Hatsukokoro comes from the Japanese proverb “don’t forget your original intention”.
Due to the contracts stipulated between the brand and the blacksmiths, sometimes the identity of certain blacksmiths remains a mystery, which makes things a little more exciting.
The Yorokobi series offers us high performance and beautifully crafted Japanese knives for those who value both functionality and aesthetics. Crafted in Sanjo, Japan by the same blacksmith behind the highly acclaimed Komorebi series, this blade’s core is modern SLD semi-stain resistant steel, renowned for its durability, ease of sharpening and sharpness. Exceptional edge retention.
The handle
Handcrafted, the handle is made of dyed and stabilized poplar burl, spacer in turquoise stone and ferrule in marbled buffalo horn.
