Fibonacci handle is handcrafted following the high-end Japanese handle style.
Curiosity
According to Japanese culture, the handle is considered a consumable, for this they do not pay much importance. Notably for that we find blades that are real masterpieces associated with a low quality handle.
We believe that nothing is better than a pretty handle made of top quality materials, to sublimate and accompany a Japanese blade.
Our handles are made with an octagonal shape, the shape used to distinguish the high-end handles in Japan. We like this shape because it enhances the beauty of the materials used and is also very ergonomic and comfortable to use.
Features
We created this handle by following the Fibonacci sequence. This is an infinite mathematical sequence of numbers, each number of which is the sum of the previous two.
Ex. 0-1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-89 etc.
Ferrule: made with 7 pieces, each piece of which has a thickness corresponding to a number of the sequence (1-1-2-3-5-8-13). Materials used: boxelder burl, black ash burl, faux ivory and curly maple.
Spacer: is crafted with 5 pieces, also following the suite (1-1-2-3-5). Materials used: fiberglass, boxelder burl, curly maple and Honduran rosewood.
Main part: consisting entirely of a piece of Bocote having a length of 89 mm, this number is also part of the suite.
Finally, the handle is made up for a total of 13 pieces, and yes, this number is also present in the sequel.
This handle has a length of 13.8 cm, ideal for attaching to blades with a length between 16 and 24 cm.
